So the Apple vs. Samsung dilemma has been carrying out for a long time. But just today, reports out of Korea are suggesting that Samsung Displays have already taken the decision to end the contract with Apple that will stop the supply of Liquid Crystal Display panels from its devices. Like most of us know by now Apple and Samsung have been going at it for a while and this is just another thing to add to the bad break-up list.

Its been said that the reason for this whole ending is because Apple is stiffening up their supple chains and squeeze higher profits out of their processes. An unknown Samsung employee that supposedly holds a senior management position with the company said that “they are unable to supply flat-screens to Apple with huge price discounts. Samsung has already cut our portion of shipments to Apple and next year we will stop shipping displays” Although Samsung has been the largest provider of the LCD panels to Apple this year, the iPhone makers have been leaning towards LG and Sharp for their display technology. Now these reports haven’t been officially confirmed by the company, it is highly expected that all of Apple’s LCD panels will be supplied by other companies other then Samsung in the near future. As always make sure to check back here on iTweak.tv for more Apple rumors and news!

As most of you may know Apple will be holding an event next week on October 25th in San Jose. Now the main focus of this event is supposed to be the presumed iPad Mini. As well as the iPad Mini, there is supposed to be new set of Mac Mini’s and iMac desktops getting a makeover. But on the side note there are new rumors leaning towards a new iBooks release. With the new iPad Mini on its way it sounds just right that Apple will be releasing a new iBooks. Seeing that the iPad has been a success as a part of the education world, Apple may just be knocking on school doors with this one. If you check out the picture below you can see that this iTunes book hints towards the iBooks 3.0 release. Just take a look at the requirements section and check it out for yourself.

Although in the past the iPad has not been considered as much of a device for reading books, the iPad Mini however with its smaller price tag, will probably be an easy buy for the average reader looking to turn to digital books. Not much is really know so far on the exact updates of the new iBooks 3.0 but keep it in mind as the event gets near. As always make sure to check back here on iTweak.tv for more Apple rumors and news!

Verizon iPhone 5 is unlocked! Well sort of? According to a report today from AP, Verizon is not going to re-lock the iPhone 5.

“NEW YORK (AP) — Verizon Wireless said Monday that it won’t prevent its version of the iPhone 5 from being used on AT&T’s network. The Verizon version of the iPhone 5, which went on sale Friday, came with an unexpected feature: it works on the network of AT&T and many other phone companies [including T-Mobile], as well as on Verizon’s. It’s the first time Verizon, the country’s largest cellphone company, has sold a phone that works on competing U.S. networks with no complicated hacking, or “unlocking,” procedures.”

Now most of us know that from the past Verizon did everything that it could to keep their customers AWAY from AT&T and other competing companies. But this time around they really cant do that. A Howard Forums poster noted that when Verizon bought its 700MHz spectrum a few years ago, which it now uses for LTE, it told the Federal Communications Commission it would not lock phones that used this network as part of the deal. AP continues there report saying…

“I’ve been reading up on the open access provisions in regards to the C-Block of 700 mhz LTE spectrum. There is a very specific line saying that a licensee(Verizon) cannot configure devices to be locked against use on another network. This means that Verizon would be violating Federal law if the iPhone 5′s sim slot is even partially locked. Unlike on the iPhone 4S – these regulations mean that Verizon must even allow an AT&T sim card to be used in any Verizon iPhone 5.

The relevant law is found here in the Code of Federal Regulations
Title 47 – Telecommunication. CHAPTER I – FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (CONTINUED). SUBCHAPTER B – COMMON CARRIER SERVICES. PART 27 – MISCELLANEOUS WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES. Subpart B – Applications and Licenses. § 27.16Network access requirements for Block C in the 746-757 and 776-787 MHz bands.

Take a look at this : (e) Handset locking prohibited. No licensee may disable features on handsets it provides to customers, to the extent such features are compliant with the licensee’s standards pursuant to paragraph (b)of this section, nor configure handsets it provides to prohibit use of such handsets on other providers’ networks.”

Of course there is a downside to this whole iPhone unlock thing and it’s that Verizon iPhone’s cannot utilize LTE on AT&T’s network, but it will however be able to use T-Mobile’s 2G and new 1900MHz 4G network.

So the iPhone 5 got a new A6 Chip, well as many people predicted the iPhone 5 appears to have 1GB of RAM. But one little secret is that the markings on the A6 chip shown both at the iPhone 5 announcement and on Apple’s current page appear to be Samsung parts? AnandTech translated the markings on the chip and this is what they had to say about it.

“Apple thankfully didn’t obscure the details of its A6 slide at the launch event, which gave us a Samsung part number: K3PE7E700F-XGC2. Through crafty navigation of Samsung’s product guide, Brian Klug got us the details. The K3P tells us we’re looking at a dual-channel LPDDR2 package with 32-bit channels. The E7E7 gives us the density of each of the two DRAM die (512MB per die, 1GB total). The final two characters in the part number give us the cycle time/data rate, which in this case is 1066MHz.”

Now this A6 chip does beat the speed of the iPhone 4s by a far, but it’s not quite as fast as the iPad 3. Check out the chart below for different product speeds.

Yes you read it right. There has been an iPhone 5 bootup video floating around youtube for the past 2 days and frankly, it looks pretty real to me. What is supposedly being said is that this iPhone 5 was taken from a Chinease factory and got into the hands of an outsider. In the video you can clearly see all the parts that were leaked in the past months come together in this real iPhone 5. So check it out for yourself below. Do you think this is the iPhone 5 that we will be seing next Wednesday at Apple’s event? As always make sure to check back for some more apple news and rumors!

As the rumors have been going around about the iPad mini that is supposed to be announced this October, many clues and hints appear of what it should look like. Now most of the clues we have seen on the iPad mini have been bits and pieces but never a full mockup like this. The website TaoBoa has provided some useful pictures of these physical mockups. Personally I think that these mockups are pretty close to what we are going to be seeing in October. But don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself. Like always make sure you check back in with us for more rumors and news!

You might have heard some rumors going on that Apple is offering up to $345 to buy your used iPhone 4s but is it true? Well yes it certainly is. I recently visited apple’s site to check on this offer myself as I was in disbelief. And to my surprise the rumors were very true. Now personally, I thought that apple was trying to some how get people to turn in there iPhone 4s’s, but why? What better time to get people to cough up there iPhone’s than just a couple weeks before the alleged iPhone 5 will be announced. Now obviously there are different versions of the iPhone 4s so that means there are different pricing points for each one. As well as different versions there are also different conditions that each persons iPhone might be in. Check out these screenshots for some of the different pricing points for good condition iPhone 4s’s. Keep in mind that the black and white version of the iPhone are the same price as color doesn’t matter towards the pricing.

Now there are other sites that are offering deals like this for the iPhone 4S. Some of them even offering more than apple does. The choice is definitely yours on deciding weither or not to sell your iPhone and then weither or not to apple. It’s a really great offer so make sure not to pass it up! As always make sure to tune in next time on iTweakTv for the latest apple rumors and news.

As a new member of iTweakTv, I am honored and privileged to be the new writer. Since most of you probably don’t know who I am, I will take a few minutes and give you guys a little insight as to how I came to get this position as writer. Basically I am an ordinary high school student that lives in Florida. My passion is technology and how it works. The way that I actually found out about iTweakTv was through youtube. I had just gotten my first iPhone and was in the need of jailbreaking it. Once I finally jailbroke my iPhone I wanted to find out about the top tweaks from Cydia. So then I went on the hunt for someone on youtube that could describe some top tweaks for me. And so I found MrAJsTech. From then on I became an active subscriber of his channel watching his videos every single day. So here I am today writing this post! Thank you so much iTweakTv and I hope to have a wonderful time writing posts for you guys! I will be writing many posts in the future so be sure to visit our website for updates on the latest news about the tech world. Please help out by visiting my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/abanoub2005 and don’t forget to visit me on twitter @abanoub2005 for some daily updates. Thanks and see you guys soon.

Gizmodo got their hands on an Apple Genius training guide. This book is used to train Apple geniuses. It is very interesting to read some of the content in this book. A good portion of the book goes over body language to determine what the customer is thinking. The book is very in depth in terms of reading the customer.

It is very interesting to know what the Apple Genius is thinking when you are trying to get your Apple device fixed. Personally I think this is why Apple’s support is the best in terms of customer satisfaction.

In this video, I go over Final Rumors & My Thoughts of the New iPhone/iPhone 5. Many parts have been leaked (not from Apple or promising sources,) however, they all lead up to the same look and design, with a 4″ screen, slimmer design, aluminum back, smaller dock connector, and a moved-to-the-top front camera. This design seems believable by Apple in my opinion, and I think Apple will also throw in the A5X dual core processor chip from the New iPad 3 or maybe even bump it up to A6. I also think we’ll get 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE and NFC technology in this new iPhone.

Thanks for watching!

You read the title correctly! A 5.1 (and 5.1.1) jailbreak is coming out very soon. How soon? It can probably even be as early as tomorrow!

By the way, this new jailbreak will be supporting the new iPad (iPad 3rd generation). This will, indeed, be the first jailbreak for that device.

What? How? Why?

Let’s break it down. If you still have your device on anything lower than 5.1, update your iDevice now! A jailbreak will be out for it within hours. Pod2G, the creator of the previous jailbreak as well, has created a new jailbreak for this firmware. So simply, update your device, and be ready to jailbreak your device tomorrow!

How do we know this? Well, a few indicators point towards this future event occurring. One, Pod2G is #HITB2012AMS, alongside many iOS hackers (names include: @flawlessfox, @p0sixninja, and more), trying to get the jailbreak to work on all devices. How else? Two, he tweeted recently, asking if anyone at #HITB2012AMS had an iPad 2,4 to test his jailbreak. He mentioned this was the last device to verify the jailbreak on. When you’re with hackers, and around hackers, finding a specific type of iPad isn’t hard to do!

OK just added iPad3,3 support to Absinthe thanks to @flawlessfox. Only remains iPad2,4 now but we need the actual device.

Summed up, we’re planning on seeing the 5.1 and 5.1.1 jailbreak being released in the morning (morning to keep traffic sufficed).

So, are you ready? Update your device now, and be ready for that jailbreak by tomorrow!

Wow. I’ve been trying to make my Macbook Air look artistic, and edgy, for months on end. I kept trying new things, but at the end of the day, you would never be able to say, “Oh that’s his Mac!”

I had a few decals on my computer, making it trying to look like it was “different”, but it started to just look unauthentic, at best. Then, a friend mentioned that I should check out iCarbons.

I thought it was cool to get a carbon fiber skin for my computer, but never expected it to be as awesome as it really is.

Thanks for iCarbons for sending this out for review, because this skin is indescribably amazing.

Once, I got the skin, nothing left me short of extreme excitement. I got the black carbon fiber for my 13″ Macbook Air.

Installation, as most think is extremely difficult, is actually very easy. I was expecting the installation to my computer, to be perplexing, but once you line up everything with the certain objects on the device, it becomes easier than ever. It took me around 10-15 minutes to put on the Keyboard, Bottom, and Back stickers on the computer. Awesome.

The carbon fiber makes it look so elegant, and different, I’m so ecstatic I have a black Macbook Air!

I can take it out of my backpack, and see people stare, and the others question it’s awesomeness. Yes, awesomeness.

Well, let’s break it down. It’ll help you decide if you think getting the iCarbons skin is worth it.

Pros:

Converts the whole look of the device, into the style you choose.

The texture. The feel of the iCarbons skins feel amazing.

It’s different. Pulling out a Macbook back in the day, made you look so awesome, with the illuminating Apple logo. But today, everyone has a Mac! If you’re super duper hipster, iCarbons is for you.

All ports stay fully accessible. It’s as if you don’t even have it on.

No residue. Self-explanatory. Everyone hates stickers with that problem, but these skins don’t carry that problem with them.

Doesn’t add bulk. My Macbook Air stays the same weight, and still looks amazing.

Alright, I’m gonna end the advantages of the iCarbons skin, I don’t want people calling me an iCarbons fanboy.

Cons:

Skin tight! No pun intended. Alright, I had to think of a disadvantage, but this one came apparent to me. I had a decal on the Macbook Air, and thought I would keep it on there, in case I ever took off the iCarbons skin. That didn’t work out well because, when I put it on, I could see my decal through the skin! I took the skin off, then took the decal off, and then put the skin back on, and it looks perfect. Just be weary of it being extremely tight.

Not all parts are covered. I’m happy with all the coverage the iCarbons skin takes up, but some people may not like that there’s no cover for the trackpad, or the bezel of the screen, or even the width of the computer. That might be foolish to some, but some people actually want the whole computer to have black carbon fiber on it. If you’re the latter, the skin might not be perfect for you. It still takes up most of it, though.

Those are pretty much the only things I can possibly see wrong with this product. If there are more, that I missed, leave comment below! We want to hear your thoughts on this product; we’re all ears.

Bottom Line:

This product is a true eye-catcher, so if you want to transform the look (and feel) of your device, this is definitely what you want. On the other hand, if you want your Macbook Air to be completely carbon fiber, then you might want to reconsider. If this skin is for you, then you won’t be disappointed. It blew away every expectation of mine, and I’m sure it’ll blow your expectations away, as well. Also, another thing to mention, the skin will always feel like it’s not there. You take it off, no residue, no stains. You keep it on, ports are fully accessible, nothing is in the way. That’s something I truly respect, because we all have encountered an accessory that completely destroys the design of the device itself. Beautiful.

I may sound biased, but you will be too, if you get the skin. It’s that great. So what are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!

If you want to pick your own iCarbons skin(s), click this link, and find your device!

It’s been a rumor for months (maybe, years), and on Tuesday, April 24th, Google finally announce Drive, the simple file system in the cloud.

In brass text, it’s Dropbox, with Google’s logo on it. Not much more, but definitely not less. Dropbox is awesome because of it’s utter simplicity, just drag-and-drop, and view from everywhere. Simple.

But Google Drive is a bit more. In a good way. Google Drive has all the features Dropbox has, but a better web-app, and some integration with its other Google products.

Dropbox is primarily an app on your Android/iOS device, or a little folder on your PC/MAC. All in all, it’s a simple file system, with a ton of storage, of free.

Google Drive, on the other hand, is the same thing Dropbox is, but now, it has taken over Google Docs (so now, it’s one giant folder, capable of holding those files and more), and also, it’s Google friendly. When I say that, I mean, it’s heavily integrated into GMail, so now sharing files is easier than ever.

Drive also has amazing space. First off, your GMail account is pushed to 10GB immediately. Whoa. 10GB. Free. Make a Google Drive account, and enjoy that free space. And also, the pricing for Drive expansion, is off the chart! Literally, look at this chart:

What do you make out of the chart? What I think is, Google Drive is starting off on top. Everything is better, cheaper, and easily accessible.

Google knew what would be perfect in the cloud storage market, and they made Google Drive. Also, another staggering thing in the Google Drive phenomenon, is the pricing. The pricing for extra storage is extremely peculiar. They’re giving away a fair amount of storage, for an even more fair value.

Extra Storage – Cost

25 GB – $2.49

100 GB – $4.99

200 GB – $9.99

400 GB – $19.99

1 TB – $49.99

2 TB – $99.99

4 TB – 199.00

8 TB – $399.99

16 TB – $799.99

When I say “Extra Storage”, I mean it’s on top of the free 5GB they give you, already. So, when you look at the storages, it’s what is added onto your already-5GB account. For $2.49 a month, you’re going to have a Google Drive account, 30GB heavy.
