SAM Unlock is here and free. SAM- Subscriber Artificial Module- This is a free software unlock for GSM sim card carriers. This unlock is available to iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S on firmwares 5.0, 5.0.1, and 5.1. NOTE: iPHone 4S can not be unlocked on 5.1 due to no jailbreak.

Preliminary
- Jailbroken iPhone 4, 4S, or 3GS
- The GSM sim card to be unlocked
Steps:
Step 1: Install SAM via Cydia. Repo address: http://repo.bingner.com
Step 2: Insert your unofficial SIM card.
Step 3: Open SAMprefs, Go to Utilities:
- and click Deactivate
- then Attempt Activation
Step 4: Your device will respring, and it should recognize your unofficial SIM card. Check the troubleshooting below or check the tutorial video below.
Troubleshooting:
If you receive a message that says: You must select the original carrier cSIMID of your iPhone, invalid sim, or anything else, try a reboot first then try the steps below.
Step 1: Remove your SIM card
Step 2: Open iFile and go to /var/root/Library. Tap edit in the upper right-hand corner, and select Lockdown, and tap the zip button to create a backup of Lockdown. Scroll to the bottom to ensure that a backup zip was created. Now delete the Lockdown folder.
Step 3: Navigate to /User/Library/Preferences and search for SAM. Delete the com.bingner.sam.plist file.
Step 4: Power down your iPhone and turn it back on.
Step 5: Insert your unofficial SIM card.
Step 6: Open SAMprefs go to Utilities and tap Attempt Activation. You will receive a dialogue stating that it may take a while. Your iPhone will respring.
Step 7: You should now be on your unofficial network. i.e. T-Mobile, etc.

What should I do If my carrier is not in the SAM activation list? Can I use just manual activation with my unique IMSI number?
it is saying – Activation reports Error: Unable to open Data_ark
i have this problem after followed all steps in troubleshooting.
pl z help me, I’m using iPhone4 ios 5.1.1 with BB 4.12.01
on same iPhone i have used Sam to unlock my ios 5.1 its successful. but this time its different.
So, I when I get to the deactivate/reactivate part, I get an error:
“SAM Notification – Activation reports error: ActivationInfo rejected. Your must select the original SIMID of your phone”
So, I try the troubleshooting instructions but I missed Step 1 – remove your SIM (urgh!!)
Now, when I turn on the phone, all I get is:
“SIM not valid – Only compatible SIM cards form a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier’s store to receive a replacement SIM card”.
I can’t get back to the menu or anything – just stuck on this error.
So, what are your thoughts? Do you think if I go back to Fido and get another SIM, it’ll be okay?

can this still work for it?
my phone does everything correctly and it still says no service after searching.
is there another way or is bb 04.12.01 just not unlockable?
