T-Mobile Drops the ‘iPhone’ name in their Unlocked and Unlimited Campaign

A few weeks back, before the iPhone 5 release, T-Mobile began their campaign which stated that customers could bring an unlocked iPhone to their store and they would distribute a proper fitted sim card and offer up to unlimited data a month. This is interesting because AT&T nor Verizon offers Unlimited data. T-Mobile also advertises that their rates could save up to $1200 in service fees over AT&T’s current rates and plans. Spring does provide an unlimited plan but their network has not been expanded enough. The main contenders for iPhone service is Verizon and AT&T.

T-Mobile challenges these companies head on. It appears though that T-Mobile was instructed to remove the iPhone and Apple name from their advertisements. It is unclear as to whether Apple’s legal team got involved. I personally think T-Mobile was expecting this but thought it was worth a try to get the publicity. Obviously if I am writing about this their plot worked…

Regardless to the branding of iPhone and Apple dropped, T-Mobile will still support unlocked iPhone users with their unlimited plan. This also means any other AT&T exclusive device will be able to be adapted to T-Mobile’s network officially.

Also T-Mobile said their 4G network does work on the iPhone 4S and it supposed to be much faster than AT&T’s 3G network. Also LTE network is supposed to work with the iPhone 5.

Let me know what you think. Would you switch?
